The Peach Orchard is a generously proportioned document of a crack band in action. Its eight lengthy performances (the shortest lasts about 11 minutes, the longest about 25 minutes) were recorded in concerts at three different venues in New York City, the quartet's home. Each of bandleader William Parker's compositions honors an event or an individual.

Darius Jones is an extraordinarily gifted young alto saxophonist and composer; Man'ish Boy (A Raw & Beautiful Thing) is his remarkable debut as a leader. Jones joined the New York music community in 2005, after living and studying in Richmond, VA.

Planetary Unknown documents an epic occurrence and its commercial release is itself the same. Major circles arc together and synchronize anew here. Mighty majestic, mackadocious! David S. Ware and company raise the bar on artistic heights, in all disciplines, world-wide, once again.

A special project fully produced by William Parker for his own Centering Records imprint and dedicated to his Aunt Carrie Lee & Uncle Joe (who is pictured on the album cover) – they celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on August 6th, 2010. William really wanted to get this done in time for this auspicious date and he did.
